What is Laser Genesis?
Laser genesisTrusted Source is a non-invasive and comfortable procedure that uses a laser to gently heat the skin. It can help smooth the skin and reduce the look of fine lines, dark spots, and wrinkles. Typically, its primary use is to fade scarring, redness, and broken blood vessels, and improve the look of rosacea.
Laser genesis works for people of all ages and skin tonesTrusted Source who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines or redness. Pregnant women should not get any laser treatments.
What does it feel like?
Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin's surface during the procedure as the laser handpiece is moved back and forth about 1/2 inch above your skin. You can expect to immediately return to normal activities, utilizing sunscreen if participating in outdoor activities.
How do I prepare for treatment?
No preparation is required on the clients part before treatment. You do not have to remove makeup before your treatment, however the laser tech will then need to do so for you. However you are allowed to put makeup on immediately following your treatment.
Who can get Laser Genesis?
Any skin type may receive Laser Genesis as it is safe for all Fitzpatrick types. Laser Genesis should not be done over an obvious sun burn. Also if you are on any medications you should check to make sure that none of them list sun sensitivity as a potential factor. If your medication dose mention sun sensitivity be sure to talk to our Laser Tech about it before treatment. For any minors who are approved for Laser Genesis a consent form will need to be signed by a parent and a parent will need to be in the room for the first treatment and potentially all following treatments.
